Newtown Recreation Summer Tennis Camps are directed by Tennis Academy of the South . Come join us for a ton of fun in the Summer sun! Learn new tennis skills, work hard, and make new friends. We have classes available for all ages and abilities. Camp activities include tennis drills, team building activities, crafts, and games. Campers will enjoy plenty of cool drinks and breaks in the shade. All players are expected to wear comfortable athletic clothing, tennis shoes, and to bring water and a light snack. T-Shirts will be given to all participants.

Youth Tennis Camp:

- Ups and Comers Camp: Ages 6-8yrs

This program is designed to teach our youngest campers, ages four through five, the basic fundamentals of the game of tennis such as the correct grips & proper stroke production, basic exercises for coordination and footwork, and lastly, campers learn through participation in tennis related games and activities.
Up and Comers
Up and comers is designed for beginners and intermediates, ages six through eight, as a fun way to learn basic fundamentals for grips, stroke production, balance, and fitness. They also will learn basic strategies of the game of tennis, team building skills through group activities, and participation in tennis related games and activities.
This action-packed and instructional camp creates a fun environment for our beginner and intermediate level players, ages nine through eleven, to learn through participation in activities. The camp will cover stroke production, balance and fitness exercises, court positioning, shot selection, scoring, and basic strategies. Camps will also participate in team building activities and games.
Heavy hitters is designed for ages twelve through sixteen of all abilities who have an interest in improving stroke production and match strategy. The campers will participate in modern game stroke production, grips and simple fitness drills. Each student will learn shot selection, game situations, and game style strategies.
