Girls On The Run . . . More Than A Running Program:
Girls On The Run of Atlanta was founded in the Spring of 2000 and is part of the national Girls on the Run program. Girls on the Run is a life-changing, experiential learning program for girls in 3rd through 8th grade. The programs combine training for a 3.1 mile running event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts. The goals of the programs are to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual and physical development. The award-winning curriculum has been featured on NBC News and in Runner’s World.
GOTR’s mission is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. Our program includes running workouts and games that teach specific life skills such as how to make healthy decisions, resolve conflict and get along in a group. For girls of all athletic abilities.
We offer Girls on the Run in the Spring and Fall. The program is for 3rd-5th grade girls and costs $170 per girl. The fee includes a 5K race fee for an end-of-season GOTR Race Event. The program is limited to the first fifteen girls per group to sign up and pay. Age groups are based on the child’s age as of September 1st of the current school year.
